GVC300 Capacitor

Introduction:

GVC300 is a capacitor specially designed for reactive power compensation of low voltage grid. During production process, superior metallized PE film is twisted around the same concentric insulated tube to ensure extreme precision of winding. The followed long-term vacuum drying is to ensure stable performance of capacitor. The current-carrying metal layers (electrodes) of three capacitor cores inside are precipitated on one side of the film after being gasificated. Electrodes are connected through metal layers at two ends of each capacitor core. Capacitor is encapsulated into a cylinder-shaped aluminium enclosure with inertia gas sealing or oil sand sealing technology.

Characteristic:

1. Capacitor is equipped with discharge resistor to ensure its terminal voltage be lower than 50V after power is cut off.

2. Over-pressure breaking protection ensures the connection between capacitor and mains supply can be disconnected in the event of capacitor failure.

3. One-time forming cylinder-shaped aluminum alloy enclosure is good in heat dissipation, lightweight and small in size.

4. Capacitor explosion-proof device: When continuous failure occurs inside of the capacitor whose self-healing feature cannot solve the failure such that temperature increase damages film, the generated gas increase internal pressure which will deform and elevate over-pressure protection. When internal pressure reaches the lower limit of over-pressure protection, explosion-proof device is started to pop off top cover of capacitor enclosure in order to relieve the inside pressure safely.

5. Used electrolyte plays a self-healing role. In the event of breakdown due to voltage, metal layer will generate great heat so that metal conductors around the breakdown point will be immediately evaporated and dissipated, and in several microseconds, which will be moved away to form an insulated area by the pressure from breakdown point. In this way, the capacitor will be maintained as intact during and after breakdown.
